Sculpture was my first art language and the most direct means for me to express concepts. In creating work for my first show of wood figures, I began to bring size into the design, which allowed the figures to own their spaces. I use the idea of physical boundaries as a part of the work.

 

The idea of boundaries refers to the physical spaces above, around and inside the sculpture. It also stands for the emotional space: the closeness and distance that are part of personal interactions and that define relationships in general.
